More IO Games
Vertix is an awesome 2d multiplayer shooter/game in classic io game style. There are a bunch of game modes available to play which are on constant rotation(timed matches). At the end of the match, you can vote on what game type you'd like to play and the one with the highest votes wins. There are also some pretty cool classes to choose from such as Triggerman, hunter and Rocketeer just to list a few. Out of all the io games I have reviewed, I'd say this one is pretty high up on my recommended list as it managed to keep me entertained for a long time. How to play Vertix offers over 10 different classes all equip with different weapons and specialities, some have a sniper rifle where as some have fast rate of fire SMGs or rifles to be used. The maps are well structured for whatever game mode you're playing and even new players have the chance to improve and have fun. However if I'm perfectly honest it will take a bit of practise to fully immerse yourself into this game as some of the more seasoned players are incredibly accurate and know the maps better. Controls To move around use the WASD keys, the space bar is used to jump and the mouse is used to aim and shoot it couldn't be simpler to have fun whilst wrecking your opponents!
Blockergame is probably one of the most feature rich IO style games I have seen so far. It mixes in simplistic IO Game style game play with a more traditional RPG style. You start the game with a choice of classes and team color. Each class comes with its own weapon/skill. My personal favourite is the necromancer but there are 8 classes in total to choose from. How to play As with most RPG games, you hack and slash your way through enemies, collecting coins along the way, you can use these coins in shops to buy new weapons and other cool items. Shops aren't that easy to find however, you have to work a little in order to get to them (I wont spoil how to find shops). In true RPG style this game has a few bosses running around. They are easy to spot out due to their difference in appearance so they shouldn't be too hard to find, simply put you will know them when you see them. I haven't yet managed to kill one yet however I have come across a few and ran proudly. The main aim of the game is to capture and hold the little castles whilst competing against the other teams. Controls The game is pretty simple to control, use the WASD or arrow keys to move your character and use either left click or the space bar to use attacks.
In this agario-styled game you find yourself as a blob surrounded by a lot of smaller blobs which can be picked up and thrown. This game follows the rules of conventional dodgeball, if you get hit you're out well in the case its game over. As you secure yourself some kills you'll gradually work your way up the leader boards, its important to note that only the kills secured in the current life are added to your leaderboard score. So far all of the available servers are based in America so if you're from Europe like me and looking to play you may have to deal with a tad of latency until they branch out. How to play True to its name dodgeballs.io is played like dodgeball, the balls bounce off terrain and walls and if you get hit either directly or from a deflection you are out. The only difference is balls can not be caught however if two thrown balls collide they will bounce off each other giving players with good accuracy the chance to block in coming attacks. All of the balls are multi-coloured, this is because you can not pick up two balls of the same colour in a row, so if you recently took a yellow ball and killed Tony you can not pick up another yellow ball until you take a different colour first. Controls Your character is lead with your mouse cursor and left click is used to throw held balls.
Mope is a foraging/survival game set in a colourful 2d environment. You start off as a mouse and aim to make your way up the food chain through eating berries to gain xp. Your objective is simply survival, do this by progressing up the food chain and avoiding predators. How to play As previously mentioned you start off at the bottom of the food chain as a mouse, as you eat berries you gain xp to evolve into a different creatures. Friendly players/objects are indicated through a light green border than outlines the objects, dangerous players are indicated with a red border, make sure you avoid these players as a newbie! Although eating berries is the way to go for food chain progression it is also important to keep your water meter topped up through consuming the blue blobs that spawn around water spots.(Bigger blue blobs) Water is consumed slowly as you move around or more aggressively depleted through sprinting. Controls Player movement is controlled through mouse movement, keep in mind that your movement can be slowed or obstructed by certain objects if they're bigger than your character. For example when you first spawn you can not eat the mushrooms or move through them so its best to go around them. Sprinting is available in game and can be used through pressing or holding in your space bar but be aware this dose consume water to use!
